I heard this morning that the official start of the school year is back to August 29. Long Live Oman for loving education so much! Let's pray the flu doesn't spread anymore than it already has, and Insha'Allah Salalah will go back to normal. Amen!
Yesterday I drove by the corniche at noon. It was so ... magical. Yes, ok, so I love fog and mist and crashing waves and rain! Don't have enough drama in my life.
Hey, random question, does anyone know where I can find a set of i-pod speakers in Salalah?

I found your blog through Sabla!
ReplyDeleteI first read about Dhofar when I was a boy in the sixties...the monsoons kissed the corner of Arabia and made a green and fertile place.
And then I read about it again during the wars with the guerrillas.
When I was in law school, I mentioned the frankincense of Dhofar to a fellow student from Sharjah and he brought me a box! :p I had it for years.
I've always wanted to visit. And I love your picture of camels at the top...it looks like camels walking through Virginia, near where I live!
Breathtaking pics Nadia :)
ReplyDeleteDear Jeff,
ReplyDeleteI've been following your comments on Um 3azzan's blog! :) I just joined Sabla yesterday out of curiousity. I'm not one for big internet forums, but I figured I'll be missing out on all the fun if I don't. Although I've been following your comments for several months, I still haven't quite figured out what your relationship is with Oman! Camels in Virginia sound very likely! How about geese in the desert?
@ Faith, Where have you BEEN, girl?!! I thought you'd disappeared off the face of earth!
Oh, dear, I'll have to be careful if you're reading what I have to say. Take me in sips so you won't get a headache!
ReplyDeleteYes, Arby of Um3azzan's blog was my first Omani friend. She led me to Sabla though she doesn't participate much there now.
I don't have a relationship with Oman except that of "friend", I guess.
I don't much like forums either. But Sabla is unique. I can't handle too many blogs either, but yours is bookmarked and moved to the top of my list. I quite see why you have fans from all over the world.

ReplyDeleteYe shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?"
May the divine blessing of Allah be with you always Nadia. Be smart and don’t let you blog be destroyed as Arby’s was.!
Arby?
ReplyDeleteMaybe she was another Dhofari blogger?
ReplyDeleteYeah, kinda disturbing to have someone warn me of having my blog destroyed. Why was Arby's destroyed in the first place?
