Pakistan Flood Victims

NOTICE: evidently there is a drop-off point at the Port of Salalah where people can take clothes, blankets, etc for the flood victims of Pakistan. Time to unclutter your house and do some good. Remember over 4 Million people were affected by the floods and more than 1600 lives were lost. Say a prayer for Pakistan and spread the word.

  1. I've just come back from the flood-hit areas as part of the flood relief efforts, approximately 14 million people are suffering at this time with forecasts of more rains for the next week. Death toll alone in the area where I was engaged has about 6 million people staying in makeshift camps.

Being a first hand witness of the devastation caused by flooding I would request everyone on this forum to pray for the people.

  3. Nadia I appreciate your post on this issue. But since it's a much followed blog, therefore I request you to write a bit more on this and try to motivate people to donate.

    Thanks

  4. It has been a very hard time for us. The massive earthquake in 2005, the political instability, the suicide bombings, the army operations in the beautiful north of my beloved country, and finally this flood.....and i hear ....more rains are coming.....but we have been all through that.....we have come out strong.....we will do it again...and we will show to the world.....we r a united nation......and InshAllah, we will once again rise.....

  5. Do you know if many donations have been made yet?
In my country we have a group of Aid organizations that work together and collect money for food & blankets/ clothing. They also make sure it gets distributed to the right people. Within 5 days the people of my small country (1/8th of the seize of Oman) have given 1 Million Euro. But, we are worried about the regime in Pakistan and about the government who is doing very very little to help their own people. The Taliban on the other hand are giving these people basic food & shelter .... and will probably afterwards recruit them for their own cause.
