Oh My God. Oh My God. Oh My God.

HUGE changes in the government less than an hour ago. His Majesty the Sultan has just issued a gazillion royal decrees appointing and re-appointing and firing ministers. All in all, according to Muscat Mutterings, 12 ministers have been removed.
.
MAKKI IS OUT. (not only is HE out, the douchebag, but his entire ministry of national economy has been wiped off the face of Oman)
.
MAQBOOL IS OUT.

PROTESTS WORKS.

Thank you Sultan Qaboos Bin Said for being such a balanced person.
.
To be honest with you, I'm not quite sure what to think! It's overwhelming. Were all those ministers really that corrupt? Why weren't they removed earlier? Why now?
.
Well done qaboos.
ReplyDeleteWell - its the night of the 'long Khunjars' - and a memorable day to be in Oman - and hoping for betters days in the future
ReplyDeleteCheck out the protests at Oman Air.

ReplyDeletewe love you baba Qaboos keep up the GOOD work!
ReplyDeleteWe love you so much Baba Qaboos keep up the Good work...Jazak Allah Kheir!
ReplyDeleteGet rid of the Minister of Manpower. He is a waste of space. And the very corrupt Minister of Foreign affairs should say saiyonara too.; Time for fresh blood.
ReplyDelete"Why weren't they removed earlier? Why now?"
ReplyDeleteTHAT is an excellent question. Perhaps the Sultan let his ministries become a bit too stagnant and sclerotic and it took a legitimate push by the people of Oman to convince HM that a real change was needed.
But surely there were complaints of ineptitude and corruption long before this...?
Can anyone please offer some specifics ref: instances of corruption or malfeasance by the various ministers who have been dismissed. I am an expatriate here in Oman and little clued in. Please enlighten me. Also can you please give us the qualifications / ages / education background of all the ministers -- esp the new ones; i.e. what makes the new ones better than the old? That they are younger? And so far untainted by 'corruption'? Thank you.

ReplyDeleteWow! What did the Indians do to make you so angry? Is it a perception that a job is occupied by a non-Omani? I urge you to think about who hired that expat and why? In a successful company the difference in salary isn't a big deal...it is the performance and qualification levels that drive the need to go outside.
