Traffic Woes

It's not even July yet, and every third car in town has a Dubai or Abu Dhabi license plate! Save us from the tourists!!!!

  1. Most of Abudabi drivers are dangerous because they think they are the owners of the road

AND I THOUGHT DHOFARIS WERE GOOD HOSTS
IF U WANT TO BE SAVED FROM THE TOURISTS THEN WHATS THE POINT OF STARTING THIS IRRESISTABLE FORUM ABOUT DHOFAR??

  3. Huma, I'm not saying we're not good hosts. We are good! We're patient and we don't say anything when tourists come and abuse our resources and the hospitality we have so generously shown. Most tourists from the Gulf come to Salalah and think they own the road as Anonymous said. They drive at a speed of 140 Km/Hr on a road for 60 Km/Hr. They don't follow the rules and end up causing a lot of accidents. Many holidays turn into tragedies because of this.

  4. Worsening driving standards is more and more obvious in Oman as time goes by. SELFISHNESS seems to me the main reason....parking in disabled spaces, using your gsm while driving, changing lanes without signalling, ignoring traffic signs, bullying drivers just because you have a bigger vehicle. I could go on and on. Why isn't the ROP stamping down on all this.

  5. On a lighter note, don't blame the tourists, you have breeze and greenery while the rest of us are burning!
