Hey everyone! Ramadhan Kareem! I received a few emails asking about how/where to donate in other parts of Oman. In Salalah the donation camp is open during the whole month of Ramadhan. The actual headquarters of the Oman Charitable Organization are in Muscat. If you wish to donate here or in Muscat, you can call one of these guys:

I'm sorry, but I am all for letting them starve.
ReplyDeleteYou've got the fairly wealthy pirate bands in Puntland hijacking anything going past, including the ship's carrying the food aid for Somalia!
You've got the Al-Shabaab Group (Al-qaeda offshoot) going nuts in Mogadish and also trying to pirate vessels in the name of religion.
They brought this on themselves, so bugger em. They reap what they sow and I aint the only sailor to be thinking this...
Sick and Tired ought to go out to sea alone and not come back. With no regard for human life and such little understanding of geo politics (pirates are pirates, not Robin Hood), out at sea, away from the rest of us seems like a relatively safe option (jupiter would be better)
ReplyDeleteI understand the geo-politics and the issues of piracy a little bit better than most because we receive regular security briefings.
ReplyDeleteTo put it simply, take your holier than thou attitude and shove it. I have been attacked by pirates several times, I have had friends on ships that have been hijacked and I know of a number of vessels carrying food aid to Somalia that have either been attacked or hijacked. Once you have been through the Arabian sea or Gulf of Aden on a slow moving ship and attacked a few times, then you can call me heartless. Until then, go and help someone else worth helping.
Why should we have regard for human life if they show none?
